The Fire Brigade of the Provincial Command of Catania intervened at midday today to rescue a 16-year-old boy who, for reasons to be ascertained, fell from the cliff in via Acicastello, from a height of approximately 5 metres, ending up on the rocks below .

On site the Fire Brigade team from the Headquarters, the personnel specialized in SAF (Alpine Fluvial Speleum) techniques, the Service Technician, the Nautical Department and the Flight Department with the Divers of the Catania Unit on board the helicopter.

The boy was reached, rescued by the firefighters who intervened and transported by sea on the dinghy of the Nautical Department of the Fire Brigade and was then entrusted to the care of the health workers of the 118 Service.

State Police officers were also on site and participated in the rescue activities. Coast Guard personnel also intervened.

The firefighters of the Provincial Command of Catania intervened in Corso Martiri della Libertà, near the Bank of Italy, to rescue a person who had fallen into an excavation from a height of approximately 10 metres.
