Migrants: Fvg Region, correct government complaint to anti-mafia

TRIESTE, 05 JUN – “The complaint presented by the Prime Minister to the District Anti-Mafia Prosecutor’s Office regarding the outcomes of the procedures resulting from the flows decree confirms the need to overcome the current quota model to avoid the risk of irregularities and to provide more punctual to the manpower requests of the productive fabric”. This was said by the regional councilor for Labour, Alessia Rosolen, who had also submitted the situation to the Labor Commission of the State-Regions conference. Rosolen points out that the President of Fvg Fedriga had reported to the Minister of Labor, “some serious irregularities in the procedures for submitting applications that emerged following the checks carried out by the Region”. Checks have “led to the hypothesis that the flow decree is being exploited to allow undue access to Friuli Venezia Giulia to people who do not have the right to it. Irregularities of which the Region has received confirmation directly from the companies in whose name the applications were presented, who denied its authenticity, so much so that they went, subsequently and on the basis of the documentation provided, to file a complaint”. Rosolen also refers to “numerous cases of identity theft: in the first days of April alone and limited to the territory of Trieste and Gorizia, over 400 false applications were identified compared to 60 quotas assigned to those territories”. Rosolen concludes by arguing that “the current model is too vulnerable to abuse and distortion of the system.” (HANDLE).
