There Libyan coast guard alongside the merchant ship Mardive Zohr 1 which has just rescued 60 shipwrecked people, then the men get on board and threaten to arrest the captain: finally, they attack beat the migrants. The Sea Bird reconnaissance plane documents this Sea Watchwhich publishes the images on the official social channels.

On Tuesday 18 June around 60 migrants were rescued international waters (“their boat was sinking”) from the merchant ship Mardive Zohr 1. A Libyan coast guard patrol boat reached and came alongside the ship, so the men boarded and invited the crew to hand over all the men recovered from the sea below the threat ofarrest.

Finally the Libyans reached the shipwrecked people who had just been rescued from the waters and beat them. Sea Watch, after describing the scene, points the finger at Italy and Europe which “financing the Libyan militias to carry out these actions (…) are accomplices from the violation of human rights in the Mediterranean”.

Sea Watch gives the example of the ENAC ordinance (the National Civil Aviation Authority) which decrees “the ban on the operation of NGO aircraft and boats in the central Mediterranean”, which according to the German NGO “is only the attempt of the Italian Government to hide his crimes“.
