There is a suspect for the death of the young Michele Lanfranchi which occurred last Saturday in a house in via Michelangelo Rizzo in Giostra. This is Giovanni Laganà, with an old criminal record already served with justice, entered in the register of suspects by prosecutor Liliana Todaro on the hypothesis of murder. An act due in view of the investigations that have been started, starting from the autopsy scheduled for June 5th at the Papardo hospital.
The man is the owner of the house, an old bakery well known in the area and later transformed into a home, where the shot was fired which, according to the testimonies of the people present that tragic evening, was accidental: the boy was showing the weapon to some friends when the shot went off and the body was found in the street – according to the story told to the police – waiting for help which proved useless because when the ambulance arrived the 19 year old was already dead.
But many open questions remain regarding the story provided to investigators, starting with the gun found next to the body or even in the hands of Michele Lanfranchi. An obvious and useless staging since the body would have been moved. It will therefore be the autopsy, together with the toxicological tests, and the other investigations by the scientific police that will clarify the dynamics. The autopsy examination will also allow us to understand whether the 19-year-old shows signs of a struggle and the presence of any biological traces. In the meantime, we are also investigating the relationships that the victim had with the suspect and other members of Laganà’s family with whom until recently he had shared moments of conviviality also published on social media in which the young man can be seen dancing serenely.
