Manduria: Sudden death in Manduria of a 39-year-old tourist, autopsy ordered

Rescue

The autopsy will establish the cause of sudden death of a 39-year-old tourist who was on holiday in Avetrana. The incident happened on Sunday morning. The man, an Australian national, was staying with his partner, also a foreigner, in a resort in the Avetrano countryside when he fell ill and lost consciousness.

When 118 help arrived, his condition was desperate. The doctors continued the resuscitation maneuvers also with the use of a defibrillator up to the Marianna Giannuzzi hospital in Manduria where the death was confirmed.

According to the hotel staff, the tourist was in excellent shape when he suddenly collapsed. Even his partner did not report any pathologies from which she suffered. It seems that the couple were in Avetrana to take part in a wedding.

The hospital management, in agreement with the doctors who welcomed him to the emergency room and attempted in vain to resuscitate him, informed the police who communicated to the magistrate on duty who decided to carry out further research to establish the cause of death. In the next few hours the autopsy will be carried out in Giannuzzi’s mortuary where the body was taken on Sunday morning.
