The friends of the town and the schoolmates of Alen Karaboja’s Olivelli Putelli di Darfo met in Bienno and together with many Biennese people reached the locality Dosso, between Bienno and Berzo Inferiore to remember with a torchlight procession the 17 year old who died in the night between Saturday and Sunday in a motorbike accident. They did it on the eve of the last farewell: this morning, at 11, religious rite at the cemetery.
Many gathered around father Gezim, mother Majlinda and brother Enio, with a simple procession but full of emotions. The boys had prepared a banner, with the photo of their friend and the message “Hello Alen, pure soulfly as high as you can.”
The student was riding his on Saturday around 11pm motorcycle with a 15 year old friend who was injured. For reasons yet to be clarified, they hit the two-wheeler against a wall, ending up on the ground. For Alen, despite the rescue and desperate flight to hospital, unfortunately there was nothing that could be done.
Last night some friends spoke up, remembering Alen, describing his character or telling some anecdotes. Also the mayor of Bienno Ottavio Bettoni wanted to give his message by representing the entire community: he spoke of a tragedy that brings pain, despair and even anger, because at 17 it is not possible to lose your life like that. Then, addressing the many teenagers present, he invited them to reflect, because there are too many young people who have died on the road to cry about. The issue of road safety must be addressed by all of us together. “Guys, be careful: be aware that life is precious and unique, don’t waste it” said the mayor.
