Work continued throughout the day to reactivate supplies
in the areas affected by the fault that knocked out the network on Sunday
of gas in some areas of the city centre. At 5pm on Monday in the so-called zone 1, that of via Venezia, 50 percent of the utilities had already been reactivated by Novareti technicians. This was communicated by the Municipality of Trento. Due to a fault, 1,500 users of the historic center of Trento were left without fuel: four thousand people were involved, currently without supply. Novareti’s interventions continued until the night and then resumed this morning. The fault affected the utilities in the perimeter between via Torre Verde, via Bernardo Clesio, piazza Venezia, via Venezia (up to the bend of the Korallo restaurant), via Galilei, via Carducci, via Simonino, piazza Battisti and Vicolo del Vo. To this area is added that of via Grazioli. Currently the company that manages the network is working to reactivate the utilities within the same day in the area from Via Grazioli and Via Zara to Piazza Venezia. According to what has been reconstructed, the failure was caused by water infiltrations in the gas pipes. The Novareti staff is supported by the firefighters of the Permanent Corps.
The effects on traffic
«For the area of the historic center – we read in the note from the Municipality – timely checks continue to identify the areas in which to intervene, with possible effects on the traffic of the centre». This morning a meeting was called to take stock of the situation. The meeting was called by Civil Protection Department, forests and fauna of the Province with the general manager Stefano Fait: present the technicians of Novareti, the manager of the Ole civil protection fire prevention service of the Province, Ilenia Lazzeri, of 118, the manager Andrea Ventura, the municipal councilor responsible for the matter, the general director of the Municipality of Trento Livia Ferrario, the director of the municipal civil protection Claudia Patton and some local police officials. «In the city – continues the Municipality – they are five construction sites have already been activated and others will be opened for verification operations and the necessary interventions, while 11 teams are at work in the city area.”
