Liguria investigation, Signorini remains in prison: legal request rejected

The former president of the port of Genoa Paolo Emilio Signorini he will remain in prison: it was decided by investigating judge of Genoa rejecting the request Of attenuation of the measurement from the precautionary custody in prison advanced by the manager’s lawyers. Signorini had been arrested and placed in a state of precautionary detention in prison on May 7th as part of theinvestigation into corruption in Liguria where he ended up the president of the Region Giovanni Toti is under house arrest. Last week, Signorini was heard by the prosecutors after having availed himself of the right not to answer in the interrogation before the investigating judge. In the prosecutor’s office, he had detailed his position regarding what he was accused of and had rejected corruption charges, underlining that he acted in the exclusive interest of the port. The hypothesis of a crime against him is corruption for the exercise of the functionin the context of relations with the entrepreneur Aldo Spinelli and with Toti. He is detained in the Genoese prison of Marassi.
