Three days after the initial “shuffle up and deal”, the World Series of Poker 2024 they delivered the first two bracelets.

The first in chronological order was that of the event #2 $500 Casino Employees No-Limit Hold’em which ended up on the wrist of Jose Garcia. Nicknamed “Placido”, the poker dealer of Sandia Resort of Albuquerque (New Mexico) and the Horseshoe and Paris Hotel & Casino from Las Vegas he left all his colleagues behind (1,189 entries) and in the final heads-up he beat Richard Rothmeier. His performance paid off with $79,134. Third place for Alexander Green and 9th for the ambassador of Poker News Lucas Robinson.

A few hours later the second bracelet arrived, linked to one of the most interesting events of this edition: the #1 $5,000 Champions Reunion No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout.

It is the first time that a tournament has been organized at the WSOP where the winners of the Main Events of past editions participate for free. However, a bounty has been placed on them: whoever eliminates a former world champion collects the ticket for this edition’s Main Event ($10k value).

493 players took part in the Reunion, 22 of which were bounty carriers. Only 7 of them qualified for Day2 and 4 went in the money.

Greg Mersonwinner of the ME WSOP in 2012, surrendered to 67° place. The race of the current reigning world champion ended a little further on, Daniel Weinman who closed his tournament in 52but location. Now short, the winner of the ME WSOP 2023 opens from the cutoff with K♠Q♦ and then called Xiaohu Liu’s all-in on the button. At the showdown Weinman finds himself dominated by A♠K♥ and the board K♣4♣4♥10♥2♠ it doesn’t save him.
