Serious accident in Brisighella: boy hit and suffers amputation of one leg

Serious accident in Brisighella late on Sunday afternoon, around 7pm, along the Monticino road. Once the medieval celebrations concluded early due to the strong storm, one of the emergency vehicles in service at the event, while going down Viale Pascoli, apparently found itself without brakes due to a breakdown. However, this hypothesis is being examined by the ongoing investigation. The driver lost control of the vehicle and was unable to complete the hairpin bend immediately below the Rocca. The vehicle then hit two boys who were walking down the road at the time. One of the two, a young man of around 30 years old, was crushed against a Civil Protection van, stopped along the hairpin bend, suffering serious injuries.
Due to the impact, the wall delimiting the road, against which the van was parked, collapsed into the cliff below.
After the request for help on 118, an ambulance and the air ambulance intervened. The injured man received initial treatment on site, then, once his vital parameters were stabilised, he was transported to the trauma center of the Bufalini hospital in Cesena with the maximum severity code. Unfortunately, due to the injuries suffered by the young man, the medical staff had to amputate one of his legs.

However, the entire dynamics of the accident will now have to be reconstructed by the Carabinieri of the local company.
