Genoa. Continuous screams and threats, verbal and often even physical aggression against the elderly mother, who also ended up in hospital several times. For these reasons a 62 year old from western Genoa was transferred to prisonin execution of a precautionary measure issued by the investigating judge at the request of the Genoa prosecutor’s office.
The investigations were conducted by investigators from the Sestri Ponente police station, who carried out the order on the basis of the numerous interventions carried out by patrol cars, called to the scene by alarmed neighborsfrom screams and blows coming from the apartment where the 62-year-old lives with his mother. The testimonies and elements collected by the police have brought to light a nightmare picture: the man he mistreated and insulted constantly the old woman, who had been hospitalized several times for the wounds without ever revealing that the wounds had been caused by her son during his daily outbursts.
In one of the confirmed episodes, when the neighbors alarmed by the shouting had tried to call the police, the man had gone out onto the landing and had threatened to blow up the building with gas. In the last one the woman was hospitalized for one fracture of the lumbar vertebrae and the man was taken to psychiatry, where, however, he remained only a few days. As soon as he was discharged he showed up at the rehabilitation facility demanding to see his mother and forcing the health workers to call the police to have him removed.
In light of all the elements collected and the risk to the woman’s safety, the prosecutor requested and obtained a precautionary custody measure in prison and the 62-year-old was taken to Marassi, while the mother is still in the rehabilitation facility.
