Free thinker, activist and politician, Olympe de Gouges challenged the French Revolution by exposing the hypocrisy of a narrative written by the victors, male and wealthy. Inégalité, balanced between show and electropop concert, retraces its extraordinary history to delve into the paradoxes of the myth on which our liberal and progressive West is based.

UBU Award 2023 – Best new Italian text Lighting design Dario De Luca

Via del Popolo, a stretch of road in a southern town that was once teeming with activity: two bars, three food shops, a blacksmith, a carpenter, a restaurant, a cinema… Two men walk along Via del Popolo, a man of the present and a man of the past. The first takes 2 minutes to travel 200 meters, the second 30 minutes. It is the small Italian city that has changed, it is the globalized society. Shops have been replaced by shopping centers and the end of retail has taken away jobs, destroying a social model still based on personal relationships.

text by Alba Maria Porto and Giulia Ottaviano, directed by Alba Maria, with Mauro Bernardi, Giorgia Coco, Federica D’Angelo, Lydia Giordano, Adele Tirante

The minutes of the feminist meetings that took place in a province in the Sicilian hinterland starting from 1975 are contained in a notebook with the words “Feminist Coordination of Enna” on its cover. The original dramaturgy takes inspiration from this document and narrates two stories that proceed in parallel: that of the women of the Feminist Coordination of Enna and, nowadays, that of a young man who discovers his origins – until then kept hidden from him by his family – and sets off in search of his own story and meets a young woman with whom share experiences and reflections. Radici reflects on the historical value of the feminist movement in Italy and addresses the theme of the parent-child relationship and inheritance.
