TRENT. On Sunday 26 May, from 7am to 9pm, people will vote for the mayor’s election in five municipalities in Trentino. Citizens will be called to the polls in (in strict alphabetical order) Ala, Campodenno, Mezzolombardo and Predazzo.
Early votingcompared to what would have been the natural end of the mandate (2025), it was necessary given that the mayors of the four municipalities mentioned above, Claudio Soini (Ala), Daniele Biada (Campodenno), Christian Girardi (Mezzolombardo) and Maria Bosin (Predazzo), last October they were elected to the Provincial Council, all with the current majority that governs Trentino.
The polls will only be open on Sunday, from 7am to 9pm and counting will begin immediately after closing.
In municipalities with more than 3 thousand inhabitants, to win in the first round you will need to exceed 50%. In Ala it will be automatic, given that there will be two candidates, while in Mezzolombardo and Predazzo, given the presence of three lists, in the event that none of the candidates reaches an absolute majority, a run-off will take place, scheduled for two weeks between the two aspirants who have collected the highest number of votes during the first round.
A different matter is that concerning Campodenno, where the only opponent of the only candidate will be the quorum. If this is not achieved, the municipality will be placed under commissionership and new elections will have to be called.
WING.
The center right focuses on Stefano Gatticouncilor in the two Soini legislatures in the last 9 years, who will be able to count on the support of four lists, Patt, Lega, Ala Civica, ABC Ala – Frazioni Bene Comune and appears to be ahead. In the very large team that supports him at the head of the lists there are the outgoing councillors Francesca Aprone (Patt), Michela Speziosi (Civic Wing), Gianni Saiani (ABC Ala – Common Good Fractions)while at the top of the candidates of the League there is still Vanessa Cattoideputy for the second consecutive legislature. The center left, however, will present itself as compact with a single listrenamed Autonomous Democratic Alliance for Alawhich will follow – in the party composition – that put in place for the last provincial elections, with Antonella Tomasi as a candidate for mayor. It is the only municipality in which there will be no electoral competition, but the Civica Campodennothe only list that presented itself, which it supports Igor Portolanvice mayor and mayor regent in the last legislature and first councilor, he will only have to run “against” the quorum. For the election to be considered valid it will be necessary for at least 50% of those entitled to vote. Three lists will present themselves in the electoral competition.
