An event on workplace safety was organized by the Prevention and Safety Service in the Workplace (SPRESAL) of Enna, directed by Ermanno Vitale, professor of Occupational Medicine at the “Kore” University of Enna.
The speakers
The provisions of the Targeted Prevention Plan – PP6, regarding assistance, prevention and control of training institutions, were analysed. The plan’s corporate contact person, Gandolfo Ferrigno, the Departmental Activities Coordinator, Valentino Gallina, and the inspector Francesco Restifo, spoke.
Vital, “quality training”
Vitale, in his speech, reiterated the focus of prevention: “True prevention of accidents at work is achieved through quality training. The controls are not enough. It is essential that each worker is aware of the specific risks present in their working environment and the safety measures to be adopted. Those who provide training are also actors in prevention. It is important to adapt teaching methods and techniques to the diversity of the subjects to be trained. Only in this way can we contribute to increasing awareness of workplace risks and therefore reduce accidents at work.”
Valentino Gallina highlighted the important role of training and updating on workplace safety; Gandolfo Ferrigno illustrated the procedures of the Targeted Prevention Plan. “This event represents a significant step in the direction of a safer and more informed working environment for all workers in the province of Enna, reinforcing the message that effective and continuous training is the key to preventing accidents and improving workplace safety” .
