At the Manfrediana Library of Faenzastarting this week until May 21stwill be exhibited on photographic project “Chronicles of a shot”, created by the 3Bgraf (now 4Bgraf) class of the “Oriani” of Faenzaduring the period immediately following the tragic events of May 2023.
The project, born in memory of the late journalist from Faenza Gennaro Cesarinia historic local reporter, initially envisaged the creation of photographic works on the daily life of students. However, the flood of May 2023 turned everyone’s daily lives upside down, forcing the kids to rethink the project.
The students were thus transformed into reporters through images, documenting the situation of the city struck by the disaster. Accompanied by their teachers, they immortalized devastated streets and housesand the solidarity that arose between people.
The photographs taken by the children were then selected and laid out in a small volume, enriched by reflections and written texts. The result is a touching and precious work, which testifies to the strength and resilience of the Faenza community in the face of tragedy.
Exposure to Manfrediana Library represents an opportunity not to forget the events of May 2023 and to admire the talent and sensitivity of young photographers.
The boys’ shots offer us one unique look at tragedya way to relive those dramatic moments and not to forgetmaking us reflect on the fragility of life and the importance of remaining united in the face of adversity by rediscovering ourselves as a community.
