For years, an Emilian woman had to suffer a series of abuses, both physical and psychological, inflicted on her by her husband and in-laws. Continuous insults, threats and physical violence, as well as an oppressive and degrading situation. After deciding to report everything to the Carabinieri at the Vezzano station, the military investigated and reported the victim’s 38-year-old husband and her in-laws, aged 60 and 64 respectively, for family mistreatment and personal injury.
The investigations showed that the abuse had actually been committed, so the Prosecutor’s Office obtained a precautionary measure from the investigating judge of the Court of Reggio Emilia which imposes a ban on the three suspects from approaching the offended woman. This ban includes the home and places frequented by the victim. The three are also prohibited from any form of communication with her.
The investigation revealed that the three suspects acted in concert to mistreat the woman, subjecting her to physical and psychological violence, insulting her daily and forcing her into a state of constant humiliation. On several occasions, her father-in-law insulted her wife and even made death threats, while her mother-in-law pushed her down the stairs, even though she was pregnant with her.
