Italian style Me and Secco the best screenplay and the prize awarded by the public of an event that is constantly growing and looking for new spaces. The winning film of the 2024 Riviera International Film Festival is Spanish The Quiet Maid.
The other prizes
The jury also awarded the Norwegian Thea Hvistendal as best director for horror Handling the Undead and Italian Me and the dryOf Gianluca Santoni, for the screenplay. The audience award also goes to the same film, while the best actors are the Czech Eliška Křenkovádel for the thriller We have never been normal, to whom director Matěj Chlupáček also goes the special prize awarded for the first time this year by The Hollywood Reporter Romeits English Jamie Flatters Of Black Dog which, in turn, wins the Bay of Silence Award
Other award-winning films
The Sky Documentary Award goes to the American Grasshopper Republic, by Daniel McCabe. New to this eighth edition of the Riff was the contest for short films, with Kevin Haefelin’s The Fuse as the winner, the story of a worn-out garbage collector struggling to make a living in the concrete arena of the Bronx. Finally, the special prizes awarded to some of the main protagonists of this edition.

The conclusions are entrusted to the president and founder of the Riviera International Film Festival, Stefano Gallini Durante: “An unquestionable success, beyond our expectations. All the records of previous years have been broken in an area where cinema had been forgotten for decades: today the Riviera International Film Festival has artistically influenced the entire territory. With an international jury of the highest level chaired by director Andrew Dominik and with the presence of Susan Sarandon, our event was the subject of attention from the national and international media, demonstrating a credibility acquired in just a few years which will be the engine of future development“.
