PESCARA. Fiorella Mannoia, Ermal Meta, Annalisa, Lakecia Benjamin. Many prominent names of the Pescara summer are expected at the tourist port in a program of over 60 events including music, theatre, fashion and taste. This is how the 15th edition of Estatica presents itself, reconfirming the collaborations with Pescara Jazz, Funambolika, Concerti Sotto le Stelle and Teatriamoci, opening up for the first time to a summer version of Fla and Terrasound. Presenting the initiative were the presidents of the Marina, Gianni Taucci and of the Chieti Pescara Chamber of Commerce, Gennaro Strever.
THE INAUGURATION But let’s go in order: ribbon cutting with Acustica on Saturday 29 June at 9.30pm, the set conceived and organized by Spray Records with over 10 performers from blues to soul, samba and songwriting. On stage Umberto Palazzo & Sandra Ippoliti, Gianluca Di Febo, Geof Warren & Pino Petraccia, Daniele Mammarella, Piz, Diba, Marò, Marsali, Nicola, Erika Secondino & Christian Mascetta. But there is a preview, from 16 to 22 June, with the wonders of Funambolika and one of the most prestigious Italian companies of the innovation circus: BlucinQue, which will present the absolute premiere of Puccini Dance Circus Opera. An all-female show, created by Caterina Mochi Sismondi, in which aerial acrobats musicians will give life to a poetic experience in homage to the legendary composer. Followed by an evening of solidarity on 28 June: Il Veil of Isis – Together with Women in Being, dedicated to combating violence against women and expressing to them the importance of mutual help (free entry).
JULY The month of July will see among the first protagonists – after a preview of the Harbor Reggae Festival and Combat Rock (3rd and 4th respectively) – the new edition of Mediterranea (5th – 7th), the absolute agri-food fair longest running in Abruzzo, a showcase that has always promoted excellence. During the three-day event, an event will be organized by Confesercenti entitled Cerasuolo a Mare, to combine the flavors of the sea with the flavors of wine.
PESCARA JAZZ From the 10th to the 21st there will be space for Pescara Jazz with a swirl of Italian and American names, from Ada Montellanico to Rosario Giuliano, Simona Severini, Marcello Di Leonardo, Chiara Civello, Hamid Drake’s Turiya, Terri Lyne Carrington’s, Flavio Boltro, Lakecia Benjamin.
FLA There will be three evenings of the Fla – Festival of books and other things, 23, 24 and 25 July, which will bring the director and actor Antonio Manzini to the Marina; a concert-interview with Setak & Friends and the reading by the journalist Concita De Gregorio with the singer-songwriter Erica Mou: “Letter to a girl from the future”. An original Estatica production is Lucio+Lucio, a double scheduled for June 30th and July 26th, with two evenings dedicated, respectively, to Lucio Dalla, with Valentino Aquilano, and Lucio Battisti. On Saturday 27th fashion returns to the catwalk with an invitation-only evening by Nami, the Nuova Accademia Moda Italia directed by Rita Annecchini. Presents Jo Squillo. On Sunday 28th the arena will be set up to host The Biggest Combat Rock Band. Over one hundred musicians will gather to play in unison songs that have made the history of world rock.
AUGUST Concerts under the stars are back to open the month of August. The historic festival conceived and conducted by guitarist Maurizio Di Fulvio will have among its guests, on Thursday 1st, Javier Girotto & Lumière Ensemble; Andrea Ciacco Trio with Stefano “Cocco” Cantini on the 3rd; Maurizio Colonna on the 11th, Enrico Vallone on the 13th for a live tribute to the figure of Pavarotti; again 21, 22, 25 and 28 the Beato Nunzio Rocksanime Choir, Traveler Flamenco, Antonio Caretta trio and Ciro Carbon. Double evening on Sunday 4th: in the arena the Li Sciarpalite theater company and… in “Le Sorelle de Profundis”. At the Club House (control tower area) 35 wineries will let you discover their products with the best fish pairings.
LET’S THEATER The collaboration with Teatriamoci has been reconfirmed: on 2, 12 and 24 August respectively with Giulia Di Quilio and Antonello Angiolillo in “Shakespeare in Burlesque”, the cabaret artist and singer Dado; Pino Ammendola and the landlord Federico Perrotta in “The right to happiness”. Valentina Olla is also on stage.
GREAT MUSIC The volume will definitely increase with the arrival of the Zoo Music Fest, 7 and 8 August with Silent Bob & Sick Budd and Annalisa. Therefore, Ermal Meta on the 18th and Fabrizio Moro on the 20th. But immediately after August Bank Holiday – 16th and 17th – the arena will be dressed in red, yellow and green for the Harbor Reggae Festival, a mixture of groove and upbeat rhythm to pay homage to icons such as Bob Marley and new talents, some arriving directly from Jamaica . Guest of Estatica, on the 19th Fiorella Mannoia awaits for the live Fiorella Sinfonica, concert with orchestra, to celebrate her 70th birthday in great style. Two other reconfirmations stand out in August’s proposals: the participation of Dago Red, one of the best Folk’n’Blues Rock Bands with roots in Abruzzo (the 10th) and the Mom evening of the Cover Lover format dedicated to Mia Martini – Ornella Vanoni – Mina , with the performers Lidia Conte, Enrica Panza and Germana Ricotti (Friday 23rd). Ninth edition for Fermenti d’Abruzzo (from 29 August to 2 September), the festival of Abruzzo craft beers which this year more than ever, proposes its highly popular emotional tastings, with moments of musical entertainment and workshops.
TERRASOUND Finally, Terrasound, 4 days of music from 4 to 7 September with artists such as the punk trio La Sad, but also Tony Effe, Anna, Night Skynny. And again Tropico and Teenage Dream, among the idols of the younger audience, now at the top of the best-selling album charts.
