Settingiano – Fire following a methane gas leak from the underground distribution network pipe in Settingiano. For reasons currently being investigated, during maintenance work on underground pipes, a gas leak, finding the trigger, gave rise to a dart of flame near homes. The intervention of the firefighters who arrived on site with 10 units and three vehicles, coordinated by the rescue official, succeeded in keeping the column of fire under control, preventing the flames from spreading to the adjacent houses and waiting for the technical staff of the ‘Italgas would take steps to intercept the leak. The high temperatures developed caused damage to the external structures of the homes. Access to the affected apartments is prohibited as a precaution pending further technical-instrumental checks and the restoration of normal safety conditions. Once the leak was intercepted, the flames were completely extinguished which fortunately did not cause any damage to anyone. Intervention underway for appropriate checks. The Mayor of Settingiano, local police and carabinieri as far as they are responsible are on site.
