It is no coincidence that the words expressed by the famous Italian actor illustrate the desire not to give in to the discordant refrains that the left has continued to repeat for years.
Alarms on Meloni dismantled
Amendola, interviewed by Press, spoke about the upcoming European elections which will be held in Italy on 8 and 9 June. An important political appointment which, combined with the US presidential elections in November, will have an impact on the scenario of the Old Continent between the two ongoing wars and the international balance. Recent polls give Donald Trump the lead over Joe Biden, but what worries the Italian actor is not the former president’s return to the White House: “His proselytes, the horned ones on Capitol Hill, terrify me“. And this was the hub for arriving at the political context of our country.
If on the one hand the left never tires of attributing legitimacy and pronouncing imminent dangers for democracy through the megaphone, on the other Amendola went straight to the point and – as a political opponent – was clear: “Just as it isn’t Giorgia Meloni to scare me, I don’t have the specter of the fez and big boots“. And this alone would be enough to ruin the modus operandi of the red galaxy who every other day paint the Prime Minister as a monster to stay away from.

Hope towards Schlein
The work done by Elly Schlein it rekindled the hopes of a man of the left who had long been lost. And in fact Amendola has made it known that he will vote for the Democratic Party: “Schlein is indeed an underdog within his party, he does left-wing things like going to Portella della Ginestra“. Therefore on his part there are many hopes and expectations towards the Democratic secretary, with whom he also shares the stubbornly united strategy to pave the way for the wide field ahead of the elections.
“None of the parties of the left will ever reach 30% alone: it is better to try to reach 42 together and try to build a pole with stubbornness“, was the actor’s analysis. However, he showed himself perplexed by the strategy 5 Star Movement by Giuseppe Conte: he defined the grillini “masters of pseudo-tacticism” whose final objective he still does not understand and from whom he would expect more institutional behavior.
The hope is that Schlein will follow in Amendola’s footsteps: criticism of the government’s actions is legitimate, even the harshest, but once and for all an end will be put to the urge to raise alarms about fascism and the authoritarian drift.
