Sixth day of searches, Milena still can’t be found: “It’s like looking for a needle in a haystack”

Six days have passed since the unexpected death of Milena Santirocco, an esteemed 54-year-old dance and fitness teacher, originally from Lanciano, in Abruzzo. The woman went out last Sunday for a walk in Torino di Sangro after lunch with her children and she never returned home. The search operations, supervised by the Prefecture of Chieti, involve a large team of rescuers, including the Fire Brigade, law enforcement, molecular dog units, divers and numerous Civil Protection volunteers.

From this morning, the focus of the research moved to Casalbordino Lido, following the indications of the technical table meeting in the Prefecture. The choice to move the operational base to the south was dictated by the frequent involvement of women in sporting activities in this area. Reports received by the ‘Penelope’ association suggest further paths of investigation. It should be mentioned that Milena, in the past, had consulted an exorcist due to alleged problems in her gym, but according to the cleric, this event does not seem related to her disappearance.

The investigations are ongoing: Santirocco’s car was found abandoned with a flat tire, while her mobile phone mysteriously disappeared along with the deletion of her Facebook profile. The searches extend both on land and at sea, involving dog teams, divers and coastal patrols. The woman’s family, in particular her sons Manuel and Denis, spread leaflets along the coast, highlighting their suspicion that her disappearance was neither voluntary nor accidental, but could be the result of a malicious event. The community remains awaiting news as the search continues unabated.
