A 42-year-old reported the theft of her car and documents in the Cremona area. The police, however, discovered that the woman had abandoned the car after being involved in an accident.

A 42-year-old had previously reported the theft of his car and then of his documents, but was then reported in turn by the Carabinieri of the Castelleone station (in the province of Cremona) for simulation of a crime and material forgery committed by a private individual in a public document. According to the military, in fact, the woman was driving her car when, the day before the complaint, she remained involved in an accident. The driver, however, was escaped leaving his documents in the passenger compartment which he said he had lost.
The report of the theft of the car
It was early April when a 42-year-old woman with a police record showed up at the Carabinieri barracks in Castelleone, saying that her car had been stolen during the night. The military, therefore, began the checks of the case by first acquiring the images recorded by the cameras of the surveillance system of the Municipality and of private individuals in the area. Those videos, however, reported scenes that didn’t match according to the 42-year-old.
Not only that, that vehicle had appeared the previous evening involved in an accident road always in the municipal area of Castelleone. As some witnesses had reported, the driver had fled, abandoning the car at the scene of the impact before the arrival of the police who intervened to investigate the case. The car that the 42-year-old had said had been stolen, therefore, in reality had been removed by the police with a roadside assistance truck and taken to a depot.

The documents found in the car
A few days later, the 42-year-old showed up again at the police station. This time the woman reported the loss of her documents, which however had been found in the passenger compartment of the crashed car. As the suspicion that those reports were false became increasingly concrete, the police took some photos of the woman and shown to witnesses of the accident.
The people listened to by the military have recognized the 42-year-old as the actual driver who had fled a few days earlier. The woman was finally reported for simulation of crime and material falsehood.
