Oil tourism in Campania – Magazine Pragma

Given the constant growth of oil-related activities in Campania, the Regional Council has decided to pass a law that encourages its growth also as a tourist experience. Councilor Tommaso Pellegrino illustrated the law in the chamber.

In Campania oil is tourism, a law is born to create olive oil experiences

The Campania region has always dealt with oil cultureand now aims to enhance oil tourism.

Oil tourism can transform into a cultural and economic phenomenon capable of offering a new working panorama.

The olive tree is a symbol of the rural landscape of Campania, to which a product among the excellences of the Mediterranean Diet, extra virgin olive oil, belongs.

The activities can be carried out by agricultural entrepreneurs, in individual, corporate or associated form, but also by direct producers who produce extra virgin olive oil.

But also from oil mills, from the consortia that protect the oil, the protected Designation of Origin of the region, from the companies marketing olive products in the Campania region.

The proposed law also defines all aspects concerning information and educational activities aimed at oil production, and guided visits to olive groves: allowing visits to oil mills, places where the tools used for cultivation and the production that comes from the ‘olive.

Great space will also be dedicated to the history and practice of oil activities.
