Meeting between Antonio Porto and Dr. Carmela Rescigno

Topics relating to security, immigration and problems relating to the State Police Offices in the province of Naples were addressed

On the morning of April 22nd, a meeting was held between us National General Secretary Antonio Porto and Dr. Carmela Rescigno, President of the Special Regional Commission for Anticamorra and Confiscated Assets as well as a member of the League – Salvini Prime Minister candidate in the next elections for the European Parliament. During the meeting, numerous themes and problems of the State Police offices in the province of Naples were addressed, in particular the problems inherent to the phenomenology of immigration for which OSA Police sent to the President of the Republic, to the President of the Council of Ministers, to the Ministry of the Interior and to the Chief of Police a summary of studies and observations (https://osapolizia.com/studi-e-sistenzazioni-sulla-fenomenologia-delleconomia-osa-polizia-writes-al-presidente-della-repubblica-ed-al-governo-italiano/ ). Furthermore, the Hon. was asked. I reject a concrete intervention at the Ministry of Transport, in particular with Minister Matteo Salvini, to unblock the payment of the stopover allowance to the Policemen on duty at the Polfer offices, pointing out that the entire year 2023 has inexplicably not yet been paid. As the agreement between the Ministry of the Interior and the Italian Railway Network has not yet been renewed. As regards the Naples Central Polfer, in addition to the problems of the staff of the Operational Sector, the problem of parking spaces reserved for staff on duty at that airport was also represented, reduced for maintenance reasons but which causes difficulties in easily finding parking at those who go to work using their own car. An intervention was also requested from the municipal administration of Naples for the phenomenon in the station and along the external sidewalk of the SFD and homeless who on some occasions were the protagonists of violent actions, recalling in particular two events which saw victims of attacks by the latter and/or irregular non-EU citizens on the national territory, against staff on duty at the Naples Central Station who on two separate occasions were injured with stabbed weapons and/or physical attacks which forced them to be hospitalized and subjected to very delicate surgical operations. The failure to equip all patrols with the Taser leads to exposing the physical safety of the operators who intervene. Furthermore, after the clashes that occurred yesterday between the colleagues of the Mobile Department of Naples and the Salernitana fans which saw as many as ten policemen injured, the problems that afflict the Mobile Departments which are now in the crosshairs of media trials as well as with a somewhat questionable personnel management, given that we record discrimination between staff employed in the company and those in bureaucratic activities. Finally, the problem of the payment of the so-called “basket” extraordinary amount which is two years in arrears was presented. The Hon. Rescigno said she was very concerned about the problems that were presented to her, committing herself not only to acting as spokesperson for the Ministry of Transport Matteo Salvini and the Undersecretary of the Interior with responsibility for the State Police Nicola Molteni, but also to personally follow the resolution of these very important problems which must be immediately addressed and resolved by those responsible. At the end of the meeting our National General Secretary Antonio Porto and the Hon. Rescigno have arranged to meet for the next few weeks to evaluate the status of the resolution of the above, also evaluating a possible meeting with Minister Salvini and Undersecretary Molteni.
