A volume, the seventh, which recounts the most beautiful years in the history of Benevento Football with the Witch arriving in Serie A twice is what is reported in the book ‘Benevento and its history 2010-2020’ Of Nicola Russo. A work started by the journalist who passed away in 2018 and completed by his wife Immaculate Fiscarelli who with great tenacity continues to carry forward the journalistic passion inherited from her husband.
Just like the previous volumes, in fact, the book presents the scores of the matches played by the Giallorossi in the decade in question and to embellish everything there are photos of the protagonists of the individual years and those of the fans. There is no shortage of testimonies, including that of the great Bruno Pizzulas well as those of the CONI provincial delegate Mario Collarileof the mayor Clemente Mastella and journalists Peppe Iannicelli And Alfredo Pietronigrowith the latter four also speaking this afternoon at the presentation held in the council room of the Rocca dei Rettori.
The bond between Nicola Russo and Benevento is impossible to separate, as his wife recalled at the beginning of the presentation: “He lived Benevento on a daily basis and thanks to him I also started to take an interest in the Giallorossi colours. This volume is also his work, because up until 2018 he collected all the data for the individual seasons and I completed them with the last two years. His emotion for Serie B and then for Serie A was immense and I am proud to have been alongside him. A new book in the future? Never say never and if it happens I hope to talk about a new promotion for our team.”
