The results of the trip to Vinitaly are largely positive for the Vite in Riviera business network, which brings together twenty wine and olive oil companies from western Liguria. The great Veronese event, which took place from Sunday to Wednesday, recorded a record turnout: 97,000 visitors, a third of whom arrived from abroad (140 countries).
«The attention for Ligurian wine continues to increase, even from foreign operators. A trend that we have already noticed in recent years and which makes us proud. It is proof that the quality has reached remarkable standards – comments a satisfied person Massimo Enrico, president of Vite in Riviera -. This year, together with the Liguria Region and the Regional Enoteca, we were in a new position, in the pavilion next to Piedmont and this, if on the one hand it could have caused some concern, was instead beneficial. The expectations of the day before were largely met, both in terms of turnout and interest. It was an excellent showcase for our companies: there were eighty labels, including some oils, that we brought for tasting, with the sommeliers not having a moment’s respite. They were four very intense days during which the world of Ligurian wine demonstrated great liveliness.”
An interest confirmed by the sold out events and the extremely positive comments from operators and wine lovers who took part in the events three Vite in Riviera masterclassesobviously dedicated to the typical wines of the west, managed with great professionalism by Jacopo Fanciulliexpert taster of international caliber.
Among the many visitors, on the inaugural day also the vice-president and councilor for agriculture of the Liguria Region, Alessandro Piana.
It should be noted that, during the four days hosted at Veronafiere, two of the Vite in Riviera wineries have earned the coveted inclusion in Vinitaly’s prestigious 5StarWinesrecognition that goes to the wines to which an international jury of wine professionals assigns an score of at least 90 cents. Among the 884 labels (out of over 2,300 participating samples) awarded, also the Colline Savonesi Igt Granaccia Dru 2021 by RoccaVinealis (92/100) and the Ormeasco di Pornassio Doc Superiore U’ Meneghin 2021 by Tenuta Maffone (90/100).
Having archived its participation in Vinitaly, Vite in Riviera’s activity aimed at valorising and promoting the typical products of Western Liguria continues with various events. The first will be at the end of the month during Valle Arroscia Rallythen Friday on May 3 at the Regional wine shop of Ortovero with a new special evening dedicated to the “4 of Albenga” (violet asparagus, trumpet courgette, violet or prickly artichoke, ox heart tomato), and then again the May 7th in Andora on the occasion of the arrival of the stage of Tour of Italy.

The Vite in Riviera business network was established in 2015. They are part of it wine and oil producing companies, whose mission is to enhance and promote typical products of the Western Ligurian area: Riviera Ligure di Ponente Doc (Pigato, Vermentino, Moscato, Rossese, Granaccia), Rossese di Dolceacqua, (or Dolceacqua) Doc, Ormeasco di Pornassio Doc , Terrazze dell’Imperese Igt, Colline Savonesi Igt, Dop Oil Riviera Ligure di Ponente. The headquarters is located in Ortovero, at the premises of the Regional Enoteca of Liguria.
