Trieste, 2 May 2024 – Liliana Resinovich case: the latest news on Trieste yellow they return to focus on new medical-legal report, on which the forensic anthropologist Cristina Cattaneo is working. In February we anticipated the hypothesis of an experimental method to define the date of death of the 63-year-old disappeared from home on February 14, 2021 and body found on January 5, 2022 in a grove. The method, it transpires today, should be studied the microbiota, and therefore the presence of fungi and bacteria on the corpse.

The microbiota, however, is of great scientific interest it is still experimental. And this could therefore be an obstacle to his use in a law and court context.
The study on the microbiota of the cadaver is similar to that on insects, the forensic entomologist Stefano Vanin he has applied it in many controversial crime cases, starting from Elisa Claps crime.
And in recent weeks the expert himself took the temperatures of the forest where Lilly’s body was found three weeks after her disappearance, to check whether it can be explained the state of conservation of the body without the scenery, often mentioned but never experienced, of freezing.
A meeting of consultants is scheduled for the end of May working on the Resinovich case. We will try to verify which of the hypotheses is more probable to explain the death of this kind and discreet pensioner, who disappeared on a December morning and was last seen by her greengrocer who remembers her dark expression, like the sky that day over Trieste.
