Postcard from Viozene (CN), on the border with the province of Imperia
The line of instability that passed through our region yesterday, generating showers including thunderstorms, quickly moved southwards, leaving stable but decidedly cooler weather in Liguria.
The morning presents with serene and clear skies across the entire territory, with the exception of some high clouds passing over the central-east. The temperatures are brisk, especially in the hinterland, where the thermometers have even dropped below zero in the basins predisposed to the nocturnal temperature inversion. Observing our monitoring network we find a minimum value of – 3.0°C in Giusvalla (SV), the lowest in the region if we exclude the – 4.8°C of Rifugio La Terza (IM), at 2065 meters above sea level. Along the coast, minimum temperatures generally vary between 7 and 11 degrees, lower on the sides of the region where the dry north wind has weakened more rapidly.
In the next few hours we will see an attenuation of the north wind in all sectors and a subsequent rotation of the wind from the south-western quadrants, especially from the early afternoon, with reinforcements along the western coast and on the central-western Po slopes, here with a component southernmost. No phenomena are expected in the afternoon, but only the passage of some clouds from north to south without consequences, in a sunny and clear context.
The weather will become moderately unstable again over the weekend, especially on Sunday, but for details on the next few days follow the weather report coming out in the afternoon.
