FVG – The Borderless Generation Audiovisual Festival – cross-border short film festival organized by the Italian Young For Fun and the Slovenian Vizo, dedicated to students from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region and the Slovenian regions of Osrednjeslovenska, Primorsko notranjska, Gorenjska, Obalno-kraška and Goriška – it will take place from 28 May to 1 June 2024 between Gorizia and Nova Gorica and includes screenings, special events and meetings regarding the border in its broadest sense.
In addition to the cinematographic field, along the way the festival also offers workshops on topics related to other artistic areas and technical and creative sectors such as photography, creative writing and the performing arts. These meetings are open both to young students in the area and to the general public interested in the topics proposed.

The aim of the Borderless Generation Audiovisual Festival – a project financed by the European Union under the Small Project Fund GO! 2025 of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Program 2021-2027, managed by the EGTC GO (www.ita-slo.eu and www.euro-go.eu/spf) – is to create a young and united community made up of young people of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Slovenian areas involved in the project, stimulate their creativity, increase their visibility, support their training and encourage their creative expression through cinema and, why not, train new actors and actresses who can take part to the productions followed by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Film Commission. In particular, given the quantity of film productions in the region in the last year and the increased demand for professional figures linked to film acting who know both languages, Italian and Slovenian, and know how to act with this specificity that distinguishes the city of Gorizia. Finally, the entire project is a way to promote mutual knowledge and a meeting point for the communities living in the border areas between Gorizia (Italy) and Nova Gorica (Slovenia).

The first protagonist of the workshop series is the actress from Gorizia Anita Kravos, well known in Italy and abroad, thanks to the numerous national and foreign film productions in which she starred, including the iconic role of the contemporary artist Talia Concept in the Oscar®-winning film “The Great Beauty”.

The workshop that will be held next week is entitled Acting for the screen – Acting well to communicate better, from 15th to 18th April, every afternoon from 3pm to 7pm in Gorizia “it will start from the recitation of dialogues taken from films to get to play one’s role in life” says Kravos “recognize what one’s place is in the family, in school, in society, in the peer group and how to move, with responsibility and self-determination in the path of one’s life, in harmony with their desires and the desire to become themselves. What determines the change and profound transformation of a character? What about a person? Is there a way to be present to yourself in life? And in art? Is it possible to improve the relationship with oneself through dialogue with others?” These and other aspects will be addressed together with the actress, who has been teaching film acting for years in Rome at the Cinematographic Art Laboratory, in a journey which, starting from behind the scenes of film acting, will bring the participants under the spotlight at the center of the stage of one’s life.

The program will also be announced soon through the profiles of the Young For Fun association on Facebook and Instagram (youngforfun_).
