Another large tree branch falls in the car park in front of the Enrico Medi Higher Education Institute. The detachment occurred last night around 9.00 pm, fortunately it did not cause any damage to people or things. The branch crashed to the ground without any stress from wind or heavy rain, it was almost certainly dry and dead for some time and needed to be cut or pruned. All’s well that ends well, if it had fallen during school hours it could have caused injuries to some students or damage to some parked cars. The problem of the neglect of public green areas and the maintenance of large trees in the city is atavistic; in fact, in the last 4 years large branches have fallen and crashed to the ground, uprooting a large tree. In 2020 in Piazza Madonnina, tragedy was touched when a stolen branch fell to the ground and onto a container. Luckily no one was there at that moment; therefore, there were no injuries. Just for the record, we would like to remind you that in the last three years, a series of large trees have fallen: in Piazza Madonnina, Piazza della Repubblica, in Via Domodossola, at the entrance to the municipal Villa of Taverna delle Rose, in Piazza Venosa, in Via Etruria and Viale della Libertà (see archive photo). The last one, in July 2023, in Via Italia right in front of the Municipality, a piece of tree injured an elderly person and there was a risk of a tragedy because there were a lot of people on the street.
