The Piott-cast at the Messaggero, with the rapper Tommaso Zanello (the Piotta), the deputy director Alvaro Moretti and Alessia Marani. When Serpico, the policeman Franco Evangelista, was killed by the NAR in front of the Giulio Cesare high school on the morning of May 28, 1980, Fabio Zanello, Tommaso’s older brother, was there, in the path of the bullet that wounded another officer, Antonio Manfreda. Piotta remembers that moment lived with the eyes and soul of a child: “The Digos came knocking at our house, two thugs…”. Tommaso was 7 years old and that morning he was at primary school, in the same school as Federico, the son of the murdered policeman. “The father’s name was the same as mine, I thought dad might die too”, he says. In that climate of ferocious and blood-soaked conflict, the days of the kids of the time passed as they walked along sidewalks contested between “reds” and “blacks” (careful not to attract attention) and explored the urban parks as if they were wild prairies, fantasizing worlds imaginary. Despite the divisions, then even highlighted by a precise dress code of right and left, and someone lost on the street destroyed by drugs, friendships in the neighborhood grow strong and cohesive. Daniele Lorefice, son of Giovanni, another policeman seriously injured in the Serpico attack, was born in 1985. For him, Corso Trieste shows the invisible signs of so much, too much, pain.
