04/09/2024 – Italgas informs that in Piediripa di Macerata, in via Cluentina, a third-party company – unrelated to the company – engaged in optical fiber laying activities damaged a gas pipeline causing a leak.
Italgas technicians, who promptly intervened on site together with the Fire Brigade and other law enforcement agencies, are working to make the area safe and repair the damage suffered. Several homes, businesses and companies in the area were evacuated.
“We inform the residents of the area, following the coordination table held in the Prefecture, that the episode is monitored and scrupulously paid attention to by Italgas technicians who intervened on site together with the police forces, the firefighters, the Police local, to the Technical and Social Services Offices of the Municipality and to the Macerata Soccorso Civil Protection association – the Municipality informs – The area has been isolated and delimited and piazzale Salvo D’Acquisto has been identified as a meeting point for the residents of via Cluentina who had to leave their respective homes. Regarding traffic, there are alternative routes and we recommend taking via Teresa Noce (Valleverde industrial area). For residents of the area, the return to their homes is expected after checking by the firefighters of each housing unit involved.
