3/29/2024 – Tomorrow Saturday 30 April, the eve of Easter, the supermarkets of large private retailers will be on strike, due to the breakdown of negotiations for the renewal of the Federdistribuzione national contract. The agitation, announced just 24 hours in advance, was proclaimed by Filcams Cgil, Fisascat Cisl and Uiltucs Uil following the breakdown of negotiations on Wednesday for the renewal of Federdistribuzione’s national contract.
The main large-scale retail brands are on strike, with obvious inconvenience for families who risk having to make up for Easter lunch with what’s at home, or in any case having to face endless queues in open supermarkets.

The agitation however does not interest either Coop Alleanza 3.0, nor Conad.
In Reggio Emilia the unions called four demonstrations with flash mobs at 9am in front of the LIDL in via Piccard, at 9.40am in front of the OBI in via Ferruccio Ferrari, 8am, 10.50am in front of the Despar supermarket in via Regina Elena, 15 in Reggio Emilia and at 11.30am in front of the Esselunga supermarket in viale Timavo , 35.

“Federdistribuzione has put forward the request to introduce an uncontrolled and generalized flexibility with the use of fixed-term contracts of an indeterminate duration, exceeding 24 months – explain the unions – In addition to this also the request to dismantle the personnel classification system with the assignment of the auxiliary sales operations employee to lower tasks such as cleaning sales and service areas. And again the request to lower the professional classification for those who have responsibility for entire overall commercial formats and that of lowering the professional classification of those who currently handle goods, dragging them towards today’s lower level”.
