CIVITAVECCHIA – Over 150 penitents who booked to be able to march, barefoot, with chains on their feet and crosses on their shoulders.

Full figures, even for the floats and the “misteretti” which will see the little ones parade. Civitavecchia remains linked to its traditions, and in particular to the procession of the Dead Christ which, this evening, will once again wind its way through the city centre, organized by the Archconfraternity of the Gonfalone which has been busy in recent weeks, with the prior Remo Barletta, taking care of every aspect of the re-enactment. A procession that the city continues to love, crowding the streets along the route to watch the procession. A mix of faith, religion and tradition that continues to arouse interest and participation, even among the youngest.

PATH Something new this year, the procession will follow last year’s route in reverse. The appointment is at 8.30 pm at the Stella church, the fulcrum of the city’s Easter celebrations. Coming down from Piazza Leandra, the procession will travel along Via Trieste, Via Stendhal, Corso Marconi, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, Largo Cavour, Largo Plebiscito, Corso Centocelle, Via Buonarroti, Via Annovazzi, Viale Baccelli and Largo d’Ardia. From here the route returns to Stella, with a new passage along Corso Centocelle arriving as far as Via Crispi, Via Cialdi, Via Cesare Battisti, Corso Centocelle, Largo Plebiscito, Largo Cavour, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, Corso Marconi, Via Stendhal and Via Trieste .

Here will begin one of the most evocative moments of the procession, namely the returning race of the floats to the church of the Star.
