“We need to reform the bonus mechanism for cars, to arrive at a less intermittent form. The Italian state budget cannot cover the difference in prices of electric cars. In Italy it takes 5 years of salary to buy an electric small car. In Germany we need 3”. This was said by the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto, at the presentation of the Pun portal on electric charging stations. “If I give a bonus of thousands of euros to buy electric cars – continued the minister – the risk is that the Euro6 cars will be changed, not the Euro1 ones”. For Pichetto, the incentives for the electrification of company fleets, which would create a market for second-hand electric cars at affordable prices, “are a hypothesis that can be pursued. Instead of bonuses, which cost money, we could intervene on the depreciation front, or with VAT deductions”.
“On the level of the columns of charging for electric cars in Italy we are not behind: we are around 50,000, the objective is 120,000 by 2030, and consequently we are quite well advanced”. This was said by the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto, at the presentation in Rome of the Pun portal on charging stations. “What we need to push for is the adaptation of the electricity grid, it is a reasoning that I made with Terna”, added the minister.
