Napoli-Roma, the VAR audio causes discussion: it concerns the penalty episode

The match between Napoli and Roma was characterized by the intervention of the VAR during the two penalties: there is the analysis during “Open VAR”.

On the occasion of the penalty awarded to Napoli, however, there is an audio of Sozza that causes discussion. The match director, betrayed by his position on the field, in fact, speaks of intertwining of legs and of a Kvaratskhelia already falling.

Then called back to the VAR, Sozza changed his decision and made the right choice according to Tonolini.

“The decision was absolutely right. Excellent work by Var. Sozza talks about intertwining of legs, but because from his position Sanches’ shot on Kvara is missed. The intensity is acceptable for us to give a penalty.”
