A sign bearing the warning of “Danger of death” due to the “Presence of unexploded ordnance of war” appeared a few days ago on the shores of Lake Albano, in Castel Gandolfo, based on an ordinance dated 2013, and reiterated in 2021.

To underline the strangeness in the timeliness of the installation of the sign is the territorial club of Brothers of Italy, which in a note turned the spotlight on the “sign placed in plain sight on the lakeside”.

“The danger of the presence of weapons of war has been known for at least 11 years – they write in the note from FdI – but the danger signal, unequivocal in its interpretation, was placed a few days ago”.

“We are the first to ask for safety for the residents and the many tourists who are starting to frequent the shores of the lake in this period, which is why we ask ourselves why the municipal administration has only now realized the need to reclaim the area.

The councilor for production activities Tiziano Mariani – continues the note – responded that the signs were installed as a precaution while awaiting a “more general clean-up of the area”. We agree and will always promote prevention in everyone’s interest.

The question we ask ourselves, however, is this: why does it seem that some problems always emerge at the immediate start of the tourist season?”.
