He died between Artena and Giulianello, his brother acquitted: it was an inevitable accident

The reasons for the sentence of the Court of Velletri speak clearly: the accident that occurred during the night was inevitable

The Court of Velletri acquitted him with the formula “because the fact does not exist”. The young man from Giulianello was on trial for the death of his brother, which occurred in 2019 between Artena and the hamlet of Cori. The crime had occurred one night in August of that year.

The boys, three in all, were returning to Giulianello after a night spent at the Palio delle Contrade di Artena. Around four in the morning, the Panda they were on skidded and overturned. Two of them saved. The third, the driver’s brother, was in the back seat and was thrown out of the car.

The young man died before reaching the emergency room. For the matter, the Velletri judges sent the young man from Giulianello to trial, defended by the lawyer Massimiliano Pica. Some time ago the Veliterno magistrates acquitted him with a full verdict.

According to the ruling, in fact, the accident was not caused by the speed of the car or the psychophysical state of the driver. Two technical consultants established that the car overturned due to the breakage of the right front “slipper”, i.e. the suspension support.

The failure of the mechanical component was a cause independent of the driver’s behavior. It would have broken anyway. More precisely, it was the breakage of the support that forced the driver to swerve and caused the car to overturn.

According to the technical consultants, the outcome would not have changed even if the car had gone at a lower speed. This is why the judges found the driver not guilty, accepting the requests for acquittal made by the defense and by the Velletri Prosecutor’s Office itself.
