The 2024 Golden Sampietrino goes to the Alpini

In the resolution fired by the Borroni Executive on 23 April, the reasons for the decision:

“Deemed to identify, for the awarding of the “Sampietrino d’Oro” merit for the year 2024, the Seveso Group of the National Alpine Association for its constant commitment in favor of the Community which translates into activities and actions useful for well-being , to the safety and growth of the City of Seveso, also demonstrating generosity and a willingness to collaborate with other associations in the area to guarantee a better success of initiatives and/or events proposed by the associations themselves”.

The mayor’s announcement on April 25th

The announcement came from the mayor Alessia Borroni during the celebrations, in Piazza IV Novembre, of the anniversary of the Liberation:

“Never more than in this historical moment have we needed positivity, moral security, civil and social participation, true and loyal people who have made and make their lives a mission at the service of our community of Seveso. For these and others reasons that will be indicated at the solemn Mass on Sunday 5 May I announce that this year the Council has unanimously decided to award the Golden Sampietrino to the Alpine Group of Seveso. The unanimity of the Council demonstrates how much the Alpini deserve this recognition it is not only from the Administration, but it is a thank you from all the citizens of Seveso for the high moral value and for their constant presence in the territory”.

The pride of councilor Zuliani

The Councilor for Culture Michele Zuliani, also an Alpine soldier (he served during the 1994 flood in Piedmont), is enthusiastic:

“In recent years I have been involved with over thirty social and cultural associations and I have had the opportunity to get to know the Alpini of Seveso even more. They have always demonstrated their ability and their availability whenever there was a need. Their response to every request has always been a “yes”. It is right to recognize that the time has come to assign the Sampietrino to a reality that has always worked for the entire Sevese community, helping those in need, granting total availability agreed from the first moment to award them this important recognition.”
