This is the statement of “La Pigna” group on a problem that causes concern in the people of Ravenna: Hera’s habit of inserting the estimated gas consumption and not the actual one.
«Of course, on the occasion of adjustmentthe amount paid in excess is refunded: in the meantime, however, the user found himself having to pay a higher amount – specifies the group leader Veronica Verlicchi – sometimes even 3 times as much – compared to what he would actually have to pay. Which is not justified if the user in question takes care to communicate in the ways and times imposed by Hera, the data that emerged from self-reading. There are, however, numerous reports of citizens who complain that the windows useful for communicating self-reading are not respected”.
Question to the mayor for the Hera group
«I have just submitted a question to Mayor de Pascale – explains Veronica Verlicchi – asking him to intervene immediately on Hera Spa, a company owned by the Municipality of Ravenna through the subsidiary Ravenna Holding Spa, so that in the case of self-reading, bills are always calculated based on actual consumption and not on estimated consumption. In the same question, we also ask the Mayor de Pascale cHow is the estimated consumption determined? of cubic meters of gas in the bill, considering that in several cases citizens notice a huge discrepancy between real consumption and the estimate. And finally we ask Mayor de Pascale what is the reason why the windows useful for communicating citizens’ self-reading are not respected by Hera spa”.
«An issue that might seem trivial but which in reality hides much more worrying aspects if we consider that Emilia-Romagna and therefore also Ravenna, in 2023 confirmed itself among the regions in which “high bills” weighs the most into the pockets of citizens. – concludes the Verlicchi – Self-reading therefore represents one of the possibilities for users to pay less, based on actual gas consumption, without having to advance money for estimated consumption. It is therefore the municipal administration’s duty to ensure that Hera respects the times for self-reading and the billing methods, to protect its citizens”.
