32 people were visited on site. A 73-year-old tenant who was intoxicated was taken to hospital under code yellow
On Thursday 28 March the Milan firefighters responded in force to a fire that broke out on the third floor of a building in via Bramante 5, in San Giuliano Milanese. Inside the apartment at that moment, the rescuers explain, there were a man and a woman aged 66 and 62 respectively, identified by the Fire Brigade as “serial hoarders”, who fortunately remained unharmed. The building, in fact, was saturated with material, making rescue operations difficult. However, the fire was put out by the firefighters who arrived on site with 6 vehicles and around twenty men. The building was secured and completely evacuated. The rubble clearing operations are underway, a long and difficult operation during which, with mechanical shovels, various still incandescent parts are separated from the pile and then extinguished with water. Following the evacuation, Areu staff assessed 32 people on site. Only one person, a 73-year-old, was required to be hospitalised, accompanied under code yellow to the San Donato polyclinic for symptoms of exposure to smoke. Investigations are underway to ascertain the cause of the fire.
