Today, 27 April 2024, an environmental activity was carried out along the coast of the Municipality of Tortolì, precisely at the “La Capannina” beach through the initiative of several local organizations including Save My Ocean, the Sailors’ Association of Italy, Avis and SOS Metaldetector; sponsored by the same Municipality and by the Maritime District Office of Arbatax, which regulated the activity with a specific ordinance.
The event called “Eco Day” took place from 09.00 to 12.00 and saw volunteers on the front line cleaning the coast. At the end of the activity, various types of waste found on the coast were recovered and sent for disposal.
The initiative carried out, which is part of others planned along the Ogliastra coast, as well as ensuring safety on the beaches in view of the next summer season, highlights the protection of the marine and coastal environment, a topic addressed daily by Coast Guard personnel.
