It seems that everything didn’t go exactly as planned with the latest update Elden Ringreleased in the last few hours to prepare for the debut of the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree.
The patch introduced several hidden balance changes and introduced some useful quality-of-life features, as well as introducing new loading and title screens related to the expansion. which we remember is playable from today (you can find it bundled with the base game on Amazon).
However, fans immediately reported numerous problems regarding the PC versions of Elden Ringwhich have always not been particularly optimized properly: these editions continue to suffer from micro-stuttering and annoying frame rate drops.
But a much more serious problem has affected even those who play the title on Steam Decks: FromSoftware has in fact admitted that there is a bug that effectively “breaks” the game on Valve’s hybrid platforms.
In fact, it seems like leaving your game inactive on Steam Deck for more than 5 minutes can even no longer record any type of input on Elden Ringeffectively forcing users to have to restart the game.
The positive side is that the report came directly from the developers themselves, who have already announced that they are working on a hotfix to resolve the problem, after naturally apologizing for any inconvenience caused.
