Apple introduced several interesting innovations with iOS 18. One of the latter concerns theHome app. Specifically, this is AI support robot vacuum cleaner which will allow users to ask directly to Siri to clean the floors. It is important to consider that there are some limitations. Specifically, the Home app now supports main features of robot vacuum cleaners, such as power control, cleaning mode, vacuuming, brushing and mopping state of charge. Such devices can also be integrated into automations and respond to Siri commands. This means you can include them in the cleaning routine daily.

Here’s how to wash floors with Apple’s Siri

Support was implemented thanks to Matter, which in version 1.2 introduced support for basic functionality for robot vacuum cleaners and floor cleaners. Someone advanced operationssuch as room mapping, are not yet supported by the Home app and require the use of apps third parts to be managed comprehensively.

The latter, however, is currently limited to US customers of the Pacific Gas and Electric Company. The tool allows users to keep tabs on the power consumption of their smart devices.
