Shadow of the Erdtree promises to be a monumental expansion, but apparently it is also destined to continue a trend deemed disappointing by a good portion of gamers: exactly like the Dark Souls DLC, will not add new trophies.

Let’s specify right away that the information is not official, however it comes from the reliable data miner known on X.com as PlayStation Game Size, who has very rarely been wrong on this type of issue. In reposting his previous tweet, the user revealed that Shadow of the Erdtree will not include any new trophies to unlockand consequently not even new Achievements on Xbox and Steam.

The blow doesn’t come unexpectedly for longtime players, who have learned to do without new trophies in the past. None of the Dark Souls expansions have introduced new achievements to unlock, not even on the occasion of republication in the form of new editions such as the Remastered of the first Dark Souls or the Scholar of the First Sin Edition of the second chapter. However, those who expected a reversal of the trend and above all the numerous new players who arrived in the wonderful world of FromSoftware with Elden Ring, a hit with 23 million copies sold, will be disappointed.

While we’re at it, let’s remind you that Shadow of the Erdtree will be available starting from June 21, 2024 on PC, Xbox and PlayStation. According to PlayStation Game Size, the expansion will weigh 16.5 GB and will be available for pre-loading on the PlayStation Store two days in advance, i.e. starting from June 19th.
