Apparently the much criticized Angela’s appearance in the remake of Silent Hill 2 it was not an idea by Bloober Team nor by the companies to which the studio turned in order to treat certain issues with the greatest possible attention.

No, the actual design of the tormented character it’s actually based on Takayoshi Sato’s original concept artwho had precisely imagined the woman with a pair of trousers, a turtleneck sweater and a physiognomy that did not tend towards excessive thinness.

It was evidently the developers of Silent Hill 2 who made the changes, perhaps imagining that a figure with such a traumatic past should have a more emaciated appearance and “worn out” compared to Sato’s sketches, which you can see below.

Controversy based on nothing?

The clarification was necessary in light of the controversy linked to the appearance of the new Angela, which many users perceived as an operation aimed at give the character a “healthier” appearance in spite of its dramatic background.

The reality is that instead, absurdly, Bloober Team tried to be more faithful to the concepts of Silent Hill 2 than the original game was, consulting documents and sketches with the intention of creating the best possible experience rather than simply copying the first version.
