The black hole created by Helldivers 2 players could bring a new faction

The players of Helldivers 2 have successfully completed the last Master Order to arrive from Super Earth, resulting in the planet Meridia now being transformed into a giant black holewhich according to some theories could prove to be a portal for the arrival of one new faction opposed to controlled democracy.

For those who don’t know, the planet in question was sprinkled with a material called Dark Fluid, (coincidentally obtained from Enlightened after the first Galactic War) with the aim of making it collapse and eliminating the Supercolony established by the Terminids in one fell swoop. Things did not go as expected and in addition to the disintegration of Meridia, a gigantic and dark black hole was born.

Will the Illuminati appear from the black hole?

At the moment, by visiting Meridia it is possible to admire the black hole in question from the cockpit of the spaceship. According to reports, if you stay in its orbit long enough you can hear strange noises, some similar to the sound of a whale, which you can hear in the clip below.

Nearly three minutes listening to the void, these sounds don’t sound very democratic to me

This has led some players to speculate that it is not actually a real black hole, but rather some sort of portal from which the Illuminati could emerge. For those who don’t know, we’re talking about one of the enemy factions in the first chapter of the series and which, also considering the information extrapolated in the past by some dataminers, will most likely also return in Helldivers 2.

In fact, the destruction of an entire planet is something new in the game’s constantly evolving narrative and a surprise ending complete with the introduction of a third group of enemies would be the icing on the cake, as well as a way to convince players to return to the servers, considering the physiological decline in turnout. Who knows, maybe Arrowhead Games Studio will reveal this important news during the Summer Game Fest on Friday 7 June. We’ll just have to wait to find out.
