Many hoped that Days Gone 2 was announced sooner or later, but apparently the sequel will never be made.

Unfortunately, however, the good but not excellent sales were not enough to convince Sony to produce a sequel, preferring instead to redirect Bend Studio to the development of a new IP.

In a post published on social media ahead of the recent State of Play, Jeff Rossone of the senior team members who worked on Days Gonehe wrote (via GamingBible):
Many people still ask me if there will ever be a sequel to Days Gone, so I present this poster as proof that it will never happen.
Sony higher-ups like Hermen have never been fans, so you won’t hear about it at PlayStation State of Play neither today nor ever.
In short, it seems that the hopes of one day being able to see – and play – a new Deacon adventure have definitively disappeared.
This is certainly very sad news for all those who enjoyed it Days Gone, also considering that the game has in any case experienced a new golden moment in recent months. In any case, this will not be enough to convince Sony (and Hulst) to finance a new chapter.
Speaking of what’s next for the developers, at the time of writing we don’t know what Bend Studio is working on, as it’s rumored that the team is currently working on a new chapter of Uncharted.
