Whistleblower Tom Henderson posted an account on Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexesharing what appear to be the first details of the game. Of course it is right to state that they have not been confirmed by Ubisoft, but the source is still very reliable, given the high number of confirmed rumors that it has leaked over the years.

There is very little information known about Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe: Marc-Alexis Côté, vice president and executive producer of the series, said that it will be different from the old chapters. The official teaser made it clear that he will be talking about witchcraftwhile a report by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier revealed that it should be set in Central Europe during the sixteenth century (at the height of the witch hunts).

The new information

The official teaser revealed nothing

According to what was reported by Henderson, Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe would still be in full development, with the release expected to take place in 2026, on the Infinity platform, about which not much is yet known.

It should be a more linear experience than its predecessors, with a single named female protagonist Elsa. It will still maintain some elements of open world exploration, but closer to the first Assassin’s Creed than to the latest ones (Mirage aside).

For now, not much is known about Elsa’s abilities, but according to what Henderson saw in a video shown to him by an anonymous source, the woman will be hunted by sixteenth-century German soldiers. You can see it in her video own a cat with a spell. Then the player takes control of the cat which is used to distract the soldiers by making it hit a glass bottle, which ends up smashed on the floor.

The gameplay seen by Henderson showed a decidedly dark city setting. According to the source who provided the video, there should be a system dedicated to fear, inspired by the Jack the Ripper DLC for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. The details on its functioning are unknown, but given the scenario of Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe, the aforementioned witch hunt period, it is not difficult to understand what function it could have.
