We cannot fail to intervene as a trade union organization on the management by the Municipality of Ferrara of the donations received in support of the Ferrara Healthcare System at a time when it was acting with every effort and with every means to protect the health of all citizens due to the frightening Covid pandemic.
After the timely and timely journalistic investigation by Estense.com which reveals at least bizarre aspects of the Fabbri administration on the management of donations, we intervene because, at the height of the pandemic, the trade unions had jointly asked to allocate what was not received by the workers of the Municipality of Ferrara following its participation in a strike, precisely in support of that solidarity project for our Healthcare Company.
The resources resulting from the day of strike in which the Municipality employees had joined, would have been added to those donated by other citizens of Ferrara. Today, following the investigation by Estense.com, we discover that only a small part has reached its destination, a predominant part is still available to the Municipality of Ferrara while another part has even been used by the Municipality to purchase health devices for its own employees.
We cannot help but be amazed at this imaginative financial management which we imagine has no equal in any other part of Italy, that is, with money deriving from donations from citizens and workers and already finalised, the Municipality of Ferrara has on the one hand supported its own costs of current nature and on the other, these resources are still lying in the municipal coffers after three years and would have remained there if this newspaper had not correctly investigated and brought the topic to the attention of public opinion.
We are saddened by what happened, we are saddened as a trade union organization that contributed to that cause through its members and registered employees of the Municipality of Ferrara.
At the same time, we cannot help but be dissatisfied with the forced justifications that the municipal administration itself has been forced to support to date.
